The Fall

I have directed a number of performances in which my objects feature as important props.  The fifteen-minute video entitled “The Fall,” documents the Devil at dinner, played by Peter Halasz, a collaborator of Andy Warhol and founder of Squat Theatre.  He eats, drinks, smokes, belches, and ends his meal with a bacchanalian gesture.   A stacked six-piece place setting plays a pivotal role in this performance.  The top of the set is a wine cup, supported by a stack of nested dishes, each used for a separate course.  After each course is eaten and the corresponding container removed, another dish is revealed.   The entire set is disassembled by the time the Devil descends into his final course.
